We visited N&R in Dallas this weekend - along with Mom - as a sort of early-Thanksgiving get together, since we won't be able to be together on the actual holiday. The weather has been unusually cloudy and chilly, perfect for hot drinks, lounging together, and chatting about everything and nothing. I treasure time like this - quality time, just an easy existence that comes naturally with family. And BBQ. And pie.
We strolled the Bishop Arts District, a quirky, hip district of shops and restaurants, where we fell in love with gorgeous succulents at Dirt. We picked up one of these - a veritable little zen garden.
We also visited the 6th floor at Dealey Plaza, the site of JFK's assassination. The museum does an excellent job of building up the social and political climate leading up to the assassination. Aside from the educational exhibits, the experience of seeing the exact spot where JFK was killed from Oswald's vantage point is a chilling experience like no other.
N&R, thanks so much for a wonderful weekend, for welcoming us into your beautiful new home, and to your new city. Love you guys, and see you again soon!
