Afternoon Tea @ the Brown Palace Hotel
We've been incorporating "tea time" into our weekends at home - time set aside to slow down, relax, and simply enjoy a cup of tea together. It's easier said than done in today's hyper-connected world. There's always an urge to check your phone - or email, or TV, or whatever. While I wouldn't trade our 24/7 information access for the times it would take a week to send a letter, there's definitely a balance to be struck. Enjoying tea - and just tea - is an endeavor to distill the huge amounts of STUFF we have (mental and physical) down to the most meaningful, sustaining units. The real challenge today is controlling the kind of information we're exposed to. I find that paring back (on social media, junk email, for instance) leads to so much less clutter and wasted mental space.
Anyway, S was kind enough to indulge my girly side with tea at the historic Brown Palace Hotel. It was a lovely treat!
We're off to Rocky Mountain National Park today - SNOW!
